WACC Golf Outing

Our First Corporate Golf Outing

We are very excited to share one of our corporate events from earlier in July! This year we were honored to be part of the Williamston Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing. Our role in the event included styling the banquet room and day of coordination. Our friends at Janus Insurance Agency and Mortgage Explorers co-hosted the event and were kind enough to invite us to participate.

As always, our favorite part of the event was the custom golf themed dessert table we created. The table featured cupcakes, sugar cookies and dessert shooters by Sweet Kathy’s. We also created a custom distressed wood backdrop so we could hang sponsor logos and event signage. We also loved the golf ball centerpieces by Delta Flowers and the custom seersucker napkins Special Occasions East created for us.

A huge thank you to Kristyn LaPres for the beautiful photos! We couldn’t be more happy with how this event turned out and can’t wait to work with all of our wonderful vendors again!

Blush and Gold Vintage Inspired Styled Shoot

We are so excited to share the photos from our vintage inspired styled shoot! Back in June we had the opportunity to participate in a styled shoot challenge through the Rising Tide Society. The Rising Tide challenge was a great experience and inspired us to organize our own styled shoot. After some brainstorming, the idea eventually evolved into a branding shoot for Pixie Dust Events.

Finding our Photographer

The first step was finding a photographer to work with and we really hit the jackpot! In a google search for  “vintage photographer” we found Elise at Mod Bettie. After our consultation with Elise we knew we had found a perfect fit. Her warm personality, ability to understand our brand and amazing vintage studio was exactly what we had been searching for.

Searching for Inspiration

The second step was finding our vision. While searching for ideas, I remembered a Cinderella themed styled shoot I came across while planning my wedding back in 2012. We loved the vintage plates, gold chargers and beautiful florals they used to highlight Cinderella’s french origin.

Lucky for us, we found some great pink and gold vintage plates and gold vases at Home Goods. We also used gold dipped vases from Etsy and clear candy jars decorated with ribbon, feathers and brooches to add some modern touches to the shoot.

Shoot Day

Despite only getting four hours of sleep the night before the shoot, everything went according to plan. We arrived on location early to find Elise ready to assist us with unloading and decor setup. Shortly after, our makeup artist and hair dresser Jennifer Bartlett arrived. Jennifer did her magic and made us look beautiful (thank goodness for concealer!). The day went by in a flash, and before we knew it the shoot was over. We are thankful that we got to work with so many amazing vendors and look forward to working on future projects.

Real Wedding: Lenny & Shannon

We were lucky enough to work with Lenny and Shannon on their special day a few weeks ago. We assisted with coordination and created one of our custom dessert tables. Lenny was a fun, creative bride that loved mixing modern and traditional styles – something we specialize in. We loved the fact that Lenny created many of the pieces that we used for her wedding, giving her wedding a unique custom feel.

25th Anniversary-72

With vintage touches and a gold and plum color palette we designed a surprise 25th anniversary party for one of our own. Tom came to us in early May wanting to plan a surprise anniversary party for his wife Lee. We were of course thrilled to work on this event.

We went to one of our favorite venues in Lansing, the Rosewood Inn. We also created a dessert table that featured a cake by Bella e Dolce. Other fun activities included a photobooth and games with prizes for the winners.

Congratulations Tom and Lee on 25 happy years!

This blue and gold Cinderella bridal shower included a themed dessert table, custom tulle table skirts and handmade invitations. The Cinderella theme was highlighted with coach favors as well as classic blue touches throughout the event decor. Floral arrangements with hues of pink were placed in glitter covered vases for a simple and elegant centerpiece. The dessert table was a hit with sweets from local talents Sweetie-licious and Amanda Makes Cakes.
